Founded in 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa, Appletree Natural is a long-term China–Africa trade operator focused on bringing high-quality African products into the Chinese market through a structured and sustainable system. Rather than acting as a simple intermediary or focusing on one-off transactions, we build and operate an end-to-end trade ecosystem connecting African producers with Chinese consumers.

Appletree Natural has built an active trade and distribution network connecting African products with the Chinese market.
Our operations include physical retail stores for South African specialty products, Mr Cape flagship stores, an African product experience centre in Qingdao, China, as well as castor oil plantations and processing facilities in South Africa.
Through a growing distribution system, our products are sold across major Chinese online marketplaces including Tmall, JD.com, and Douyin, alongside private-domain commerce channels and offline retail partners throughout China.
Over the past decade, we have built a private consumer network of more than 30,000 verified members and a media ecosystem reaching over 100,000 followers across platforms such as WeChat, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, TikTok, and livestream channels.
Appletree Natural has also been featured on CCTV News during a South African Ambassador-led livestream campaign that generated over 4,000 orders within one minute.
Beyond South Africa and China, our business operations and sourcing relationships extend across multiple African countries including Rwanda, Ethiopia, Ghana, Madagascar, Congo, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and Mozambique.
