Psoralea pinnata is an African herb traditionally used by the Bushman and Zulu for sufferers of emotional stress and trauma. In tincture form, Psoralea pinnata is extremely potent and therefore should never be overdosed under any circumstances and only taken with caution. Overdosing will cause drowsiness and long periods of induced sleep.

In the Cape Province and south Kwazulu Natal, Psoralea pinnata is particularly popular with students, especially because of the peer pressure placed upon them. Psoralea pinnata allows students to concentrate and focus while simultaneously taking away the emotional stress and fear that accompanies demands and pressure. The Bushman and southern Zulu teachers of herbal medicine require their students to take Psoralea pinnata prior to lessons on African herbals.
